Description
A thermocouple is a temperature-measuring sensor that consists of two different types of metal wires joined at one end. When the junction of these wires is heated or cooled, it generates a small voltage that can be correlated to a temperature reading. This voltage is a result of the Seebeck effect, where a temperature difference between the two junctions of dissimilar metals creates an electromotive force.

Basic Components:A thermocouple typically has two wires made of different metals, joined at one end to form a measuring junction. The other ends of the wires are connected to a measuring instrument, creating a “cold junction” or reference junction.
