The restrained flange adaptor is a type of pipe fitting designed to connect pipes to flanged equipment while providing additional restraint to prevent pipe movement and separation under pressure. A restrained flange adaptor is a flange adaptor with grip device, which can be a grip ring, wedge etc. The purpose is to grip the pipe and thus prevent seal failure due to movement of the pipe.It is specially suitable for HDPE pipe which can be easily deformed and the project conditions that tend to cause pipe movement, e.g. ground that tends to subside, pipes with large temperature variations etc.
