Hayward® BYCN Pure-Blu and BYCS Sure Tuff PVC Butterfly Valves Available in 2″ to 8″ sizes having PVC bodies and discs with EPDM liners.

These Hayward butterfly valves are designed for light industrial and agricultural duty applications as the lack the features and robust design of the BYV industrial butterfly valves; the BYCN and BYCS series cost from 25-33% of their industrial versions and used for simple, manual applications.

The only differences between the two valves are the color of their operator handles (BYCN is blue, BYCS is red) and the valve stem material (BYCN is 316SS and BYCS is 410SS. 316SS is considered to be more corrosion resistant and thus might be better suited for aggressive agricultural chemicals whereas 410SS is hardened but not as corrosive resistant; 410SS costs less than 316SS.

All of the other characteristics are the same, they have a wafer body designed to be installed between two pipe flanges. The bolt holes will accommodate both ANSI or PN10 style flanges, note they are not lugged. The valve body and disc are made of PVC and the liner/seal is made of EPDM.

The industrial ball valves are available in additional body materials (CPVC and Polypropylene) and liner materials (Viton and Nitrile). They are also offered with lugged bolt holes and either a lever or gear operator and they can be fitted with an electric or pneumatic actuator.
