Platinum glass filled polypropylene (PGFPP) simplex strainers lack the black pigment of the GFPP material and are otherwise designed the same as Hayward’s PVC, CPVC and GFPP basket strainers. PGFPP enables us to support socket fusion connections in both USA and Metric standards in addition to threaded and ANSI flanged connections. In some applications a light colored strainer is preferred because it might be easier to determine contamination and damage.

Hayward’s one piece injection molded design results in a heavy-duty strainer to withstand the most demanding applications. All of the connections (inlet, outlet, vent, drain and cover) are designed to be used without tools, significantly reducing the chance of damage due to over-tightening. You will notice there are two outlet ports, a high and low port. You can choose either or both depending upon your ideal piping requirements. The inlet is located above the lower outlet port and across from the other outlet port. Usually the lower outlet is used as a drain, but sometimes having the inlet and outlet located on the same side is advantageous. An optional ball valve drain kit may be used on the lower true union port for quicker and safer drainage of aggressive fluids
