Converting a Bag Filter Housing for Use with Filter Cartridges
Although filter bags offer many advantages compared to filter cartridges such as retained particulate remaining contained within the
filter bag, fewer sealing points and quicker/simpler maintenance, there are applications which benefit from specially designed filter cartridges. There are filter cartridges which have much finer particulate retention and some provide higher efficiencies. You can use our adapter kits to use filter cartridges in lieu of filter bags.
Adaptation to a Single Cartridge
To properly seal a single element filter cartridge within the housing you will use an adapter kit which has an upper and lower sealing ring and connector as illustrated to the left (items 1-3 and 6-10). The filter cartridges are proprietary Hayward designs having diameters of 4½”, 7″ or 7¾” OR industry standard 2½” – 2¾” diameter by 30″ long filter cartridges having DOE or 222 FIN/FLAT cap with single open end. 30″ long filter cartridges consist of (3) 10″ long filter cartridges permanently affixed into a single unit.
You can also install a multi-element adapter as illustrated to the right using (5) 30″ long filter cartridges having either DOE or 222 FIN/FLAT cap end with a single open end.
There are many different style filter cartridges and to ensure that the correct adapter kit is selected it is a good idea to call us or better yet, fill-out our application based inquiry form to enable us to assist you with the proper selection.
